ADB SCF Fundraising Kick-off


The Staff Community Fund (SCF) of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) held its Fundraising Kick Off on September 5, 2016 at the EDR Coffee Lounge of ADB. Present were ADB President Takehiko Nakao who gave the message and the officers and members and of the SCF Committee led by the Chair, Ms. Christine Infantado. Ms. Carolyn C. Ui, President of LINK Center for the Deaf, was invited to give the Message of Thanks.  Ms. Ui expressed her sincerest thanks to the SCF who has been a partner of LINK Center since 2004. Shane Gulay, a Grade 9 student who is deaf from Bagong Silang High School shared with the group how grateful she is to the SCF for not only providing her and the other 14 scholars the means to go to and from school but more importantly for providing the needed support service in their studies.  The presence of interpreters in their mainstreamed classes allows them to cope with the academic requirements. Mr. Dongdong Zhang, SCF VP-Operations closed the program.

Teacher Enhancement Program 2016: “Enhancing the 21st Century Skills of Young Children”

ANNOUNCEMENT: Calling all Kindergarten and Grade 1-3 teachers of children who are deaf!

LINK Center for the Deaf would like to invite you all again to our annual Teacher Enhancement Program 2016 Seminar-Workshops. This year’s training will be the continuation of last year’s Seminar-workshop on “Doing what is best for Children: Developmentally Appropriate Practices (DAP) in the Early Years.”

The 2-day seminar will be about “Enhancing the 21st Century Skills of Young Children.” The shift from Industrial to Knowledge age requires teachers to be equipped with skills in order to help them prepare students for the challenges of the 21st century. Project-based learning enables children to develop skills that will enable them to think critically, collaborate with others, communicate effectively and create innovative outputs which are not only meaningful but also relevant.

The seminar will be held on April 22-23, 2016 (Friday and Saturday). The venue of the training will be at the 2nd Floor Walter Hogan Conference Center (Room 6), ISO Complex, Ateneo de Manila University Campus, Katipunan Road, Loyola Hts., Q.C.

ALL ATTENDING PARTICIPANTS will be SPONSORED to the seminar-workshop, the 2-day training is for FREE. (Inclusive of Registration fees, Meals, and Seminar materials). Please be reminded however that LINK will NOT be shouldering your TRANSPORTATION and ACCOMMODATION expenses.


Teachers who attended last year’s TEP 2015 “Doing what is best for Children: Developmentally Appropriate Practices (DAP) in the Early Years.” will be given priority with the slot reservation.

All interested teachers may reserve their slots by kindly filling out the attached invitation reply slip in this announcement:
